Overview

NIA’s Spirulina is a blue-green algae powder cultivated in purpose-built freshwater pools in Thailand. It is produced using fresh CO₂ from an ethanol fermentation process and dried into a fine powder with no additives. • Contains essential amino acids
  • Source of vitamins and minerals (including B vitamins, iron and beta-carotene)
  • Suitable for vegetarian and vegan applications
  • Research suggests spirulina may support cardiovascular health (e.g. cholesterol and blood pressure)*
  • Often used for energy and wellbeing support
Applications

Production

Spirulina is grown in freshwater pools and thrives at approximately pH 8.5 and 30°C. Once mature, it is harvested from the pools, strained using specialist screens, washed several times and then dried into powder. Nothing is added and nothing is taken away.

The CO₂ used in production is sourced from ethanol fermentation, and the water used in the ponds is collected from mountain rainwater storage.

Quality note

NIA’s Spirulina is produced with a focus on purity and consistency. Typical lead content is below 1 ppm.
